KP becomes the first province to implement Google for Education to help students

PESHAWAR, November 20 — Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be the first province to upgrade the existing education sector through Google’s digital technologies and disrupt the old education system, strengthening the vision of Digital Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan.

In this regard, Tech Valley Pakistan – trusted country partner of Google for Education, Google Workspace and Google Cloud in Pakistan – has teamed up with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Primary and Secondary Education Department (KPESE) to deploy G-Suite for Education in educational institutions. and equip teachers digitally with Google training, starting with a pilot program in Peshawar, reads a press release issued here on Friday.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, a major technological breach has been shown in the country, especially in the education sector.

One of the most important students of COVID-19 was that the majority of our teachers do not have proper IT skills and do not have the knowledge and certification regarding distance and digital teaching.

With the help of Google for Education, educational institutions across the province will be digitally activated and equipped.

The project will also ensure that teachers receive proper technological training and certificates. Later, this digital literacy will also be passed on to the students.

According to the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahram Khan Tarakai, the modern education system of the province integrated with Google will bring about more positive ‘educational changes’ and will also be aimed at improving the existing literacy rate.
